Riaz's Evaluation

My Evaluation

Intro:

The brief of our music video was to create a music video to engage our target audience, the song we did was 'Mad World- Gary Jules'. My role in the production process was to direct Shahel in the music video. We did some research in school on other music videos to get a idea on what to do in our music video. For example we looked at depressing songs because its the genre of our music video.

Main bit:

The genre of our music video was depressing. We had a wide range of conventions like close-ups, establishing shots, long-shots and we had the character acting depressed by showing it through his emotions and body language because you would see this in a depressing song. In the pre-production process I did the conventions of a music video, equipment needed and helped for the research and planning. When we did are filming it was kind of hard because it was really cold and we had to film for a long time but overall the filming was alright. The only problem we had to deal with is meeting up with each other to film because some of us were busy at certain times but overall I think our group worked really well together.

Conclusion:

One place we can show our music video is on TV on the music channels. A place where we can exhibit our music video is in a shop where a lot of people go to. For example we can exhibit the music video in Game, ASDA, Morrisons because a lot of people go them shops. If our audience like the song then they can get hold of it by buying it from the shops or by downloading it from iTunes. Whilst making this music video we had to make sure it is suitable for our audience because we had to make sure what our audience is watching is relevant to the music lyrics and genre.  Overall I think the  music video was really good and I also think our group did really good on creating this music video. My favourite shots of the music video is the close-ups of Shahel because it shows how he is feeling through his facial expressions and it also shows that he is depressed. In our music video we looked at teenagers and also represented them by making the protagonist a teenager, which is good because our target audience is partly teenagers and people who feel depressed at times.
